Ever since I can remember I’ve always loved Christmas, the whole Christmas season!!!
From the smell of a fresh Pine Tree glistening in the living room, baking cookies in the kitchen (with flour dust covering your clothes like snow), to the eager excitement on my children’s faces as they wait for Christmas Eve to turn to Christmas Morning. It was just that night a few Decembers ago that my story began.
That night for bed my children asked me to tell them a story (I had already read all the Christmas books we owned). And since my stories always start with a magic castle or a princess, I began....
“There is a Christmas Castle hidden deep within the trees. It is built with snow and magic and a touch of holly leaves.”
I took my children on a magical journey that night, through the halls of an enchanted castle. Where snow fell in the great room, icicles glowed, enchanted ice skates, and a very Special Candle from Santa Claus, himself!!!
(Shh, the secret is… it only lights up after Santa has delivered presents)
By the time I was done my kids were begging me to tell them more of the story. And with that, like an elf in December, I got to work turning my bedtime tale into a tradition to share.
